Difference--> Standard vs. High Speed wheel balancing??

I'm trying to find a shop that offers LIFETIME (of the tire) high speed wheel balances (if I even need high speed). I called TiresPlus which offer the lifetime service, but it's standard balancing. I asked what is the difference between standard and high speed balancing....

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by TiresPlus CSR &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">"Our standard balancing is only good up to 65mph. If you want high speed you'll need to get in touch with a performance shop"</TD></TR></TABLE> http://images.honda-tech.com/set1//smile/emcrook.gif

If a wheel is balanced, isn't it balanced PERIOD? Surely they don't balance customers wheels and tell them to stay 5 under the 70mph highway speed limits https://honda-tech.com/forums/images...es/emdgust.gif

Can someone shed some light on this?

Thanks

I do not know but there is my guess; better wieghts that have less chance of flying off at high speeds and more accuracy and precision in the balancing.

High speed balancing allows you to test the balance of the tire and wheel while simulating the weight of the vehicle on them.

You can read about it here:

Doesn't really explain the difference between the two. Just discusses the Hunter GSP9700 machine.

Closest thing I found:

Any other info on this?
