Indicator lights on Auto Shift column (P, R, N, D, 1, 2)
98 accord lx sedan, automatic. Noticed that at night, on the automatic shift column indicator, it doesn't light up.
Is it suppose to? I've never paid attention until I realized it was pretty dark at night in the center console area. If it is, i'm sure you can replace it but the center console and shift column looks pretty tough to dismantle just to change a bulb. any help would be great. thanks |
Re: Indicator lights on Auto Shift column (uschonda)
If you're speaking of the shift quadrant at the control lever, Yes- there's a bulb specifically for illuminating it.
On the 5th gen Accords it requires pulling the rear console and front console upper trim to gain access. About 6 screws if I remember correctly. The 6th Generation Accord appears easier. http://www.hondaautomotivepart...82%29 http://www.hondaautomotivepart...NSOLE But it still appears you have to take the top trim plate (W/Cupholder) out to gain access. Should be able to carefully pry off the ring around the shift gate to access the light. I would replace it with LEDs. I've done that and it makes it much brighter...check out http://www.superbrightleds.com
