What would cause Power Steering go out?
I was doing interior swap, changing fog and headlight bulb last couple days. When I tried to drive my car today, I found out the steering wheel was not turning, so my guess is steering wheel is gone. What would be happened to it? I have checked all the fuses, and they are okay. Really need help! http://images.honda-tech.com/set1//smile/emcrook.gif

First thing I would do is check the PS fluid level and check for any CELs or obvious leaks...

but it was working flawlessly before, just doing minor stuff to the car would cause the problem to fluid level and more??

I don't know, I'm just saying go take a look at it and check for a CEL. Anything is possible.

pump (belt) lines, fluid and rack. Pretty much all that controlls power steering. Its a short check list.

i would assume that if your steering wheel is gone then someone stole it or you lost it.

Re: (v4lu3s)
lol @ the reply
but yeah all you can check is... the pump, the fluid, lines, and the rack itself, possibly the belt running the pump too. you said you were doing an interior swap? what do you mean by that? maybe you installed the steering wheel wrong? or broke something taking it off? |
If I knew what kind of lude you hade it would help. But my first impression is you unhooked the p/s fluid resivoir changing your bulbs and never put it back. (left it hanging at an angle where the fluid can't be picked up).
Oh and any problem with the power steering system will not set a trouble code. |
Re: (MooGoCow3)
hahah, problem fixed today! https://honda-tech.com/forums/images...es/emsmile.gif it was the belt went off, it was kinda dumb, but another guy on PreludeOnline had it before, and told me. And yea, my lude is 4th gen, 93. I didn't touch the steering wheel by anychance while doing the swap. Thanks for all the replies, appreciated. Happy holiday to all!
