Where is my thermostat on a 97 Honda Accord? (non-vtec)
 

I'm trying to change the thermost to track down a overheating problem, i disconnected the upper radiator hose, but no signs of the thermstat. Where is it on these cars? I have a 97 accord, 4 cylinder, not vtec.

top of engine left side front (standing front of car looking at engine) where the lower rad hose connects to the engine

Can you tell me the degree of difficulty in replacing the water pump and timing belt in a place97' Honda accord ?

make sure u have the right tools. the hardest thing is removing the crank bolt (181 lbs/ft) and tensioning the timing belt (kinda tricky EricTheCarGuy has a good video showing a Honda B16 engine) basically TB/WP would be a 8-10/10 as the hardest thing to be done on a car anything else will seem easy compared

p.s. if u do attempt a TB/WP make sure u follow the correct technique removing the crank bolt. UP to DOWN as seen in numerous youtube videos.

Here's a link to Eric The Car Guy. I did the head gasket on my 95 Accord LX 6 months ago and used this video to do the belts, water pump, etc. Best 16 bucks I've ever spent. My 95 has two belts--a timing belt and and balancer belt. O'Reilly's has the loaner tool to remove the crank pulley bolt. That bad boy is tough to get off sometimes. I had to use a six foot cheater bar and my big ol 230 lb. butt to break it loose. You need some good tools, jack, and safety stands. I bought all my parts from Rock Auto.
