Install Water Pump/ Install Oil Pump
 

Sup,
So im putting my brand new fully built set up together costing me over 5,500 bucks in parts.....

I really dont want to mess it up. Im having a machine shop assemble the engine obviously, and i will have the local shop put the head on the block, torque it down and insert the timing belt. The reason is due to the fact i dont want set the timing wrong or anything. I dont want to torque down the head wrong and end up blowing a gasket or possibly a engine.

My buddy, a good mechanic, the handler of the whole project says i am making everything too complicated and i should just have him put the head on the block, do timing belt, etc......

Im nervous when i put over $5500 in someones hands.....

So im having the shop do that job for me to guarantee that its done right, and to warranty the fact that it will be done right.

Should i have my mechanic install the oil pump and water pump? I heard if these are installed the wrong way, your engine can run out of oil or coolant.....

Is it possible to install these the wrong way?

Is it possible to install a oil pump or water pump the wrong way causing the engine to be damaged?

The oil pump and water pumps are both really easy to install, and should be installed at the same time your head is installed. The water pimp is driven off the timing belt and the oil pump is driven off the crank.

They are very easy to install.

it sounds like you have no idea, so let your good friend do it. it really isnt that hard, you cant really expletive it up

Thanks alot for advice, i just had my worries up.
People say its very easy to install...if it is not installed right it won't damage anything....

I guess i will have my friend do it.
