Re: (CleanHatch)
It this happening everytime you turn left?
My car is doing the same thing but only in the mornings or for the first 5 minutes of driving. Its weird and I have never encountered this before. I havent changed the axles (yet) but they both seem to be OEM honda and they are NOT ripped. Also, my clicking/popping is coming from the right front it seems. Do you have a swap of any kind? |
Re: (JOEY F.)
no swap, all stock. Its only clicking when i turn the steerling wheel completly left. It doesn't make any noises when im just turning left.

Re: (CleanHatch)
Yep, sounds just like my car but I have a Bmotor. Im going to check tonight and see if its really my axle or not.

Tie-rod end ? Did you use a used axle? Try wheel bearing as well . Or ball-joint .

https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emthup.gif Lift the front end of your car and grab the wheel at the 9 and 3 oclock position and wiggle it back and forth. Feel for any play and this could tell you if you have any tie rod problems or wheel bearing play. If you do the same at 12 and 6 oclock, that can narrow it down to cv joints and ball joints. Also, make sure the front hub nut for your drive axle is not loose. If it were to come loose it could also cause that noise. |
Re: clicking noise when turning left, not cv joint/boot (coquitlamEG)
yea its the tie-rod, so the question now is how hard is it to change?
|
Re: clicking noise when turning left, not cv joint/boot (CleanHatch)
Not very hard.
Just pop the tie rod out of the knuckle ( I usually knock on it with a hammer after loosening the nut on the ball joint) and loosen the Jam nut with a big wrench. From there, you can "left loosey" the thing right off. Make sure to count how many turns it takes to take off the old tie rod so when you put your new one on, you can have a similarly adjusted tie rod. Then, alignment time! |
