K24A1 vs K24A2 vs K24A4 Short Blocks
 
So I'm not getting many answers from the boys and girls on K20A.org on this. I know that the K24A1 has lower compression than the K24A2 and does not have the Oil Squirters as well. Are there any other differences like main caps or girdle?

Well,

these are the accord, element, crv and tsx blocks.

Are you asking about bare blocks or what?

Each girldle comes with the block so you cannot buy one on its own. In case you want to mix and match, you could have it decked etc...

All these blocks for the most parts use the same parts. yes, the TSX has oil squirters but when sleeving a block we have been adding the oil jets to non tsx k24a blocks.

Only major difference in bare blocks is that the CRV block can take a type s oil pump with less trouble then a tsx, accord, element block.

Basically the K24 is the New B20 and the K20 is the B18C5... my 2004 TSX has 205 BHP, and a 2002 RSX Type S put outs the samthing with less torque... it wouldnt make sense to put a K20 head on a K24 block...
K20 was made for High HP and high RPM... the K24 is for Torque... so if you want one or the other, buy a RSX or a TSX

wow, r u kidding? Please look into the flow of the k20 head. Sure there is no 8000 rpm, but the extra torque makes up for that and more.
Please check k20.org before making yourself look bad.
have you heard of honda challenge?

how am i making myself look bad? i know the K20a head is made for flow... its made so the air can flow freely at those high RPMs, thats why the K20 has a K20 head and a K24 head is different head! where could I have possibly gone wrong?

really sorry to bring this back from 07 but i was googling K24 differences and this was the first option. this is the funniest shit ive read in a while and thought you guys would like a good laugh too.

Actually if you put a k20 head on a k24 block its all about tuning. Yes u may not have the high rpms like a k20a,k20a2,k20z1,k20z3 but its all bout tq in the heavier cars. I personally have a k20/24 frank swap in my fg2 and let me tell you im very pleased with my low end and top end tq. Yea u Can rev the k20a,k20a2,k20z1,k20z3 motors to 8200-8500 depending if you have flash pro, kpro but with no tq its point less. And the tsx head is very similar to all the others except it has a dif intake manifolf but it still uses the real vtec mechanism unlike the accord and crv and element. With my I/H/E, TBS,FP using hondata calibration my beast has about whats listed on its website but shy of the tq by a few ticks. But 275 whp and 205 tq is good enough for a few bolt ons and flashpro. So my advice to to anyone the extra tq is def a dif maker in any car but in a few yrs when every body is swappin 2.0 blocks for 2.4 just remember what I said its 2.4 FTW

I went from an 08 Si sedan(K20Z3) to an 04 6-speed TSX(K24A2) and the two are very different. Yes the Si is a tad bit quicker light to light,but was slower from an 60mph plus roll. The torque and constant feel of the K24A2 is much better for city driving and/or having passengers. The Si in city driving or with 1 or 2 people felt very sluggish if you didn't rev the piss out of it. Of course the Si had the "cool" loud as hell vtec crossover(didn't have nothing on my old 92 GS-R),but I kinda enjoy not broadcasting to the world that I'm accelerating(especially bored cops). It all depends what you want out of your engine and what kind of driving you do with it.

Naw really!? It was back in 07 where K swaps were still rare to see compared to seeing one every day.

I bet if we went back to 1998, no one ever heard of b20v or a b20 swap.

^Acually in 1998 b20's where in alot of hatches in my native homeland of Miami. B20's using LS or GSR trani's,LS intake manifolds,and chipped ecu's.Very cheap alternative. They were even cheaper that LS engines at the time..

But they weren't as popular as they are now, since people have discovered their potential by having it vtec.

I would say the Frankenstein would be better. IT is the reason I got back into the Honda scene. I had one blow the doors off me with simple bolt ons and a tune
