Re: WHY DOES MY GAS GO UP AND DOWN (lv6l)
not sure what it is but mine does it to ... especially if i accel and then maintaint the speed it will go down then slowly back up ... i think its from the fuel moving around in the tank but not sure man ... good luck with the answer https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emthup.gif

it's because of the moving fuel in the gas tank as LSegHatchy said

Re:
Its something normal i guess because i do face the same thing when i floor it and in less than 1 min it goes back to normal https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emthup.gif https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emwink.gif
but not exactly the same old level because I already wasted that fuel ! |
Um... yeah when you move, the liquid known as fuel sloshes around and the sensor gets an inaccurate reading. It just slower going up than it is going down. Like when you fill up your gas tank even though it's full it takes a minute or two to show that it's full.

Take a long hard right turn and the needle will go down. Take a left turn and it'll go up. It's just the gas moving up and down on the sensor. Nothing more.
|
Ive never noticed that, my needle never does that...

Re: (Mohsin)
it is because the fuel is moving, once u get below a half tank it does it worse, mine sometimes goes from 3/4 tank to E
use your trip meter to tell how much gas u have, not that POS gauge |
wouldnt it be more effective if they made a gauge that went off the weight of the liquid inside?

Re: WHY DOES MY GAS GO UP AND DOWN (lv6l)
Yea my 93 hatch does that too its pretty annoying sepecialy when you glance down and your like wtf? didnt I just put gas in? like said above it does it especialy bad in right hand turns. None of my other cars have done this that bad so I dont know but its normal just go off your tripmeter
