it might be possible to take them off without removing all of your lugnuts, but it is not possible to take them off, without breaking them, unless you remove all or some of your lugnuts. Look at the lugnuts, there is a possibility that only 2 of them will have black washers connected to the lugnut, this is what holds the hubcap on. You only need to take the lugnuts off that have this washer on them to get the hubcap off. It isn't that difficult to remove the lugnuts, when you put the lugnuts back on you should torque them to 80 ft. lbs.

You must remove lug nuts to get wheel cover off.

Not all of us know everything about cars, so take it easy.

this is not the worst thread ever.... sometimes people just have never tried something and are afraid that if they do try it, they'll expletive up.

better know before-hand than after, right? can't be hard on someone who asks for help.

loosesn lugs while on the ground

jack car up and remove lugs and remove wheel cover

reinstall lugs and tighten enough to ensure wheel is all the way on

lower car

torque lugs to spec

repeat for other 3 wheels

the only stupid questions are the ones that arent asked. weve all been there at one point or another.

it should be that 2 out of the 4 (or 5) lugs have a rubber ring around it. thats actually what holds the hubcap on. if you find those you don't need to jack the car up.

On my '99 LX, which I assume is the same as the '00 LX, you have to remove the four lugnuts. Jack up that part of the car and just take off the lugnuts.

By the way, if it scratched up, faded, or whatever, a new hubcap is only ~ $15 or $17. If they are beat up a little, you only need to replace two at a time (on the same side of the car) which will make the car look much better; I've done this before.
