5th gen 4 cyl cars have only 1 O2 sensor for the 4 cyl models

'97 is OBD-2 so it has to have a secondary O2 sensor after the cat. If the one he's looking at is before the cat, it's the primary.

on a '96-'97 Accord there are 2x O2 sensors. One in the header and one in the cat.

what the previous to guys said...OBD2 has two o2 sensors, the one right on the exhuast manifold is the primary sensor and the second one is right after the cat.

The secondary screws into the cat.

well yes its on the cat, the bung is right before the flange when the pipe starts to get smaller. its on the top/side angle up towards the car.
