Depends on your budget and what u want ta do to the motor. Ls/vtec's are some strong ass motors if built properly, but gsr motors can produce some big hp #'s also. So it really depends on your budget and hwtau want.

Unless you are goign to make DAMN sure that it is done right then I'd go with a GSR. LSvtec's are really only worth the time and effort if you are goign to run high CR in my opinion.

Professor15 08-01-2005 04:03 PM

which ever one you can get your hands on...if built right. BOTH motors can pull good numbers and good times. I would peice together a vtec motor though...ls/vtec or gsr dont matta.

then get a ls block and resleeve and bore it to 85mm..etc https://honda-tech.com/forums/images...es/emsmile.gif but stock for stock lsvtec vs gsr i'd go for a gsr anyday https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emthup.gif

84mm vs 81mm? B20V

..until someone who never owned a B20 tells you that the sleeves are weak.

GSR for reliablity, also prices have come down so you are not saving any money building LSVTEC.

displacement difference is negligable.

GSR block and LS crank. doesnt cost as much as you would think. you can pick up a complete GSR block for 400 and ad ls internals and you have the best of both worlds. PLus you dont have to mess around with the conversion. Total cost is prety close when you factor in the vtec conversion parts.

Re: ls vtec vs. gsr (mehdiR)

i run ls/vtec but i think you would be better off keeping what you have now. i dont think all the extra money you will spend on swaping a ls block in would be worth the little amount of gains you will see
