ls vtec vs. gsr
what would u guys go with ls vtec or gsr? ohh and its going to be in a ek coupe
|
Re: ls vtec vs. gsr (ek9slut)
Depends on your budget and what u want ta do to the motor. Ls/vtec's are some strong ass motors if built properly, but gsr motors can produce some big hp #'s also. So it really depends on your budget and hwtau want.

Re: ls vtec vs. gsr (JdM DA InTeGrA)
i want to have a strong ass motor that pulls hard with good numbers
|
Re: ls vtec vs. gsr (ek9slut)
Unless you are goign to make DAMN sure that it is done right then I'd go with a GSR. LSvtec's are really only worth the time and effort if you are goign to run high CR in my opinion.

which ever one you can get your hands on...if built right. BOTH motors can pull good numbers and good times. I would peice together a vtec motor though...ls/vtec or gsr dont matta.

Re: ls vtec vs. gsr (GOLDBERG)

|
bump bump bump it up

Re: ls vtec vs. gsr (ek9slut)
84mm vs 81mm? B20V
..until someone who never owned a B20 tells you that the sleeves are weak. |
Re: ls vtec vs. gsr (EG6R)
GSR for reliablity, also prices have come down so you are not saving any money building LSVTEC.
displacement difference is negligable. |

GSR block and LS crank. doesnt cost as much as you would think. you can pick up a complete GSR block for 400 and ad ls internals and you have the best of both worlds. PLus you dont have to mess around with the conversion. Total cost is prety close when you factor in the vtec conversion parts.

Re: ls vtec vs. gsr (ek9slut)
purpose?
|
Re: ls vtec vs. gsr (mehdiR)
i run ls/vtec but i think you would be better off keeping what you have now. i dont think all the extra money you will spend on swaping a ls block in would be worth the little amount of gains you will see

Re: ls vtec vs. gsr (ek9slut)
keep the poormans r and invest in some tuning, headwork, cams, good header.......just my 2cents.....but good luck with your decision https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emthup.gif
