'91 accord LX - flashing oil light

Once the car is warmed up, the oil light will come on ,dimly at first, then start blinking when I come to a stop. Have replaced the oil sending unit and changed the oil. Still happening , wondering if I can adjust the idle to stop it, the light flashes when the idle drops below about 1250 rpm but only once the car is warm. The engine sounds good, runs great. There are 100,000 miles on vehicle, I'm hoping it is not the oil pump. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks - JR - https://honda-tech.com/forums/images...s/emsmilep.gif

no you cannot adjust idle to stop it especially if it comes on below 1250 ,,what is the engine idling at when at normal running temper??? how often have you done the oil changes??? i am assuming you tried changing the oil and install a new filter as well... do you hear any noise coming from the lower end??

if you changed o/f, and already installed a new sending unit , the next thing is to chk oil pressure , remove sending unit hook up an oil pressure gauge and see where they are at chk it at idle and at around 2000- 2500 rpm

What should the pressure be, and what might the next step be? It is still running fine and the light sometimes doesn't come on for a while. Also, it couldn't be an exaust system leak causing this? Thanx in advance. JR

at idle it should be at least 15 psi at 3000 rpm should be 55-65 psi
and no exh leak does not affect oil lite coming on
