Directional tread tires can only go on one side of the car, grooves look like they are going forward. Non Directional tread can go on any one of the 4 sides of the car. unidirectional tread: http://www.discounttire.com/product/tires/nithv3.l.jpg Directional Tread: http://www.discounttire.com/product/...kumhv3.ang.jpg Non Directional: http://www.discounttire.com/product/...yokpt1.ang.jpg |

You can also check the side wall and look for an arrow for direction.

if getting one directional tires, make sure its is mounted correctly. when i went to discount tire center in january they mounted my tires backwards so the treads were facing the wrong direction. i, of course, later fixed it myself because why would i trust people who can't do it right in the first place?
i personally like one directional tires |
