d15b7 misfire?

When I fire it up, especially on the colder mornings, she'll idle at 1500rpms. About every 10 seconds or so the engine will *POP* and the idle will drop 200rpms and go right back up to 1500. It'll do that until I start driving, then everything's fine. Plugs have ~1000 miles, wires ~12,000 miles and cap and rotor ~8000 miles. Let's hear some theories and how to go about fixing this. TYIA

How many miles does the motor have? That kind of stuff happens to honda motors all the time. When the motor is cold, fuel doesn't dissipate into the air as quickly, and the cylinder doesn't fire. My car is hell to drive on a cold morning until it warms up. I wouldn't worry about it unless the engine actually dies when it misfires.

The engine has 152,500 miles. Honda engines may do this, but I want to fix it. Anyone else have any help?

its not a big deal at all, but the first thing I would check is that you have the correct gap for all your spark plugs.

when my d15b7 started doing that i lost compression shortly after so get a compression check and also check for any block wear good luck

Re: d15b7 misfire? (clint g)

What exactly has to be done to regain compression?

I'd probably be best off just doing a complete rebuild or finding a new engine, huh?
