Noob question: what's the difference between wideband O2 sensor and stock O2 sensor?
 

Searched in FAQ and did not find.
How much should I be looking to spend to buy one for my uberdata setup?

A wideband is typically a 0-5 volt output for A/F ratio
A narrow band is a 0-1 volt output only good for determining rich or lean condition.

I have an A/F ratio gauge that comes as a package in used turbo kit. Can I use it to monitor my A/F ratio to make sure i'm not running lean? How do I install it?

This is temporary until I get Uberdata on my car.

No, it won't help you. Reason: What the narrowband O2 sensor considers "rich": Anything lower than 14:1 AFR, is actually waay too lean for a turbo engine under full load. So whether your AFR was a dangerous 14:1 or a safe 11.5:1, the AFR gauge would show you the same thing.

Would a vortech 12:1 FMU with stock injectors be safe enough for 7-8 psi boost?

it must the autometer gauge your talkin about, get a wideband dude, the fmu will be good for that much boost, but why don't you consider geting hondata or something, or uberdata atleast

Yes, I'm planning to go to uberdata in a couple of months, but for now I only have time to install the turbo kit itself with vortech FMU. (btw I just bought some DSM 450cc, it'll help, right?)

I asked the question because I'm afraid of running too lean and blew my motor.

For these wideband 02 sensors, such as a PLX M300, can it be used in both wide and narrow simultaneously? Showing you your AFR while communicating with the ECU (necessary, right?)?
