theres water leaking out of my muffler with white smoke and it has like a sweet smell to it. whats the problem???

Yup. Check your oil next to see if its milky.

it won't always be a bad headgasket. How much water is leaking out? is there like carbon buildup in it?

Does the car have a rough time turning over? If you conitnue to get thick white smoke, you are evaporating coolant that shouldn't be in your motor. But seriously, get it checked out asap before you damage any cylinders. Let us know the progress.

and theres a little oil leaking from where the head meets the block like right above the block stamp. my exhaust smell has like a sweet smell to it and water is just leaking out of the muffler. Ill just change the head gasket to make sure...

Check your dipstick and see if the oil has a milky color to it. If so it is a head gasket. I would bet head gasket b/c of white smoke, coolant out of muffler, and a sweet smellin exhaust. What color is the coolant in the radiator and resivoir?

the oil looks good and so does the coolant. i can still drive my car right.. if it starts to overheat then dont drive it rite. if it doesnt overheat then the gasket would be ok rite??

You can still drive it, but I wouldn't. The gasket could still be the culprit even if the oil looks good. The gasket could have a leak at the water jacket, that could make the water go only into the cylinder. Do a comp test and see what happens. If you do drive it make sure you keep an eye on the temp gauge.

does the smoke that comes out of the exhaust disapear fast? water coming out of the exhaust is normal since the product of fuel burning is CO and H20 (carbon monoxide and water) The water normally comes out as vapor and you dont see it, but when your car is cold that vapor condenses in the exhaust forming water and coming out the exhaust in the form of liquid. I dont know about the sweet smell of your exhaust fumes though, coolant is sweet, I know that. but if there was enough coolant going into your combustion chamber that it leaks out the back, I believe you would be hearing some loud knocks. a compression test is a cheap easy way to guess if you have a head gasket leak. try that first.

i work at a a automotive service business and we think by your cars symptoms its a head gasket; like said before check your oil for milkyness

is your car burning coolant? how cold is it outside? whats temp guagu look like. if its cold outside and u get whitesmoke and a liltle water its ok as long as the smoke isnt thick, its just condensation. the sweet smell is normally coolant but if its hot outside and u get white smoke 9/10 times its the head gaskety

yea you can drive it rite now, but take it easy, no hardcore driving. first of all, get the problem checked out by a pro , then fix it asap. but it is driveable. my 90 Ls is goin through the same problem, and i'm pretty sure it's a head gasket. same white smoke that's harsh in the mornings, and very little when it's warmed up. coolant goes down very slightly, but tht's casuse i got a leak as well. hope it helps!

Drive it to get a leakdown test. You're gonna see bubbles in your radiator. If that's what you get, your headgasket is blown. https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emsad.gif

Do compression and leakdown tests, it should tell you wether or not it's the headgasket.
