What would you do? Ripped outer tie rod boot, sloppy steering?

Well, my drivers side outer tie rod boot is ripped and there is geece everywhere. My steering is also very sloppy. I yank my rack back and fourth and its seems tight. Do you think the sloppyness is my steering is the rack or the outer tie rod? Obviously the iuter tie rod needs replacing, but should I also do the rack? The rack boots are still good if that helps.
What would you do.
Thanks, Ryan

in short, will a ripped outer tie rod boot cause sloppy steering? I didnt think so, but someone let me know for sure.

Obviously you should replace the tie rod. Check autozone, they are like $35 with a lifetime warranty.

Just jack that side of the car off the ground, and grab the wheel and try moving it. It will be apparant if the tierod has any play.

I'd honestly be more concerned about the Geece, did the mama Goose abandon them? https://honda-tech.com/forums/images...s/emsmilep.gif

Has your steering always been sloppy, or just recent?

HAHAHAHA Vap, you would catch something like that!!! lol

Its been sloppy for a while now, and I think the boot just recently riped. There is no play when I shake the wheel, or the rack. I guess its my rack, I will just replace all the parts at once. While im at it, I can throw some polly bushings in too.

PS, so a hf rack would be an upgrade? Tighter ratio?
