i have used everything. krylon, duplicolor, caliper paint, valspar, rustoleom..... the list goes on. i never had a problem with any of those except one time i did a white one with duplicolor and over time it yellowed but other than that i think your safe to use pretty much any kind of paint.

Use VHT wrinkle paint Sp-201 red or SP-204 black then cook in the oven. Dont forget to change head/spark plug gasket .

I've tried the Duplicolor Metal Cast paints on mine. I used the Metalcast Ground Coat which is like a metallic silver primer, then I used the Anodized Purple color for the base. For the clear I shot it with actual PPG clear from a gun. Once the clear hardened it felt very durable, and looked pretty legit.

you don't really need high heat primer...i have done 4 valve covers, and not one had primer on it...they have held up for almost a year without any fading bubbling or any chipping...just make sure the valve cover is sanded smooth, and shoot with whatever you want..i shot base on direct metal with clear on top of that and it looks perfect

well that depends on what kind of paint you are goin to use...for a wrinkle finish paint doesnt really matter what sand paper you leave it at...for a bc/cc i like leaving it at somewhere between 400-600

MTNMTN Montana Spray Paint is the toughest **** available or real auto paint works nice too, primer, base-coat, clear-coat and some love wet sanding buffing etc...

Your best bet to get it powdercoated is to take it some place in your area that does powdercoating. Cant really powdercoat it yourself unless you have a gun, the powder, and an oven to bake it in. It will hold up a lot better than just spray paint.

you honestly don't need that high heat BS. i just hit mine with primer and the 96 cent cans at walmart. than i sprayed duplicolor clear FX for the glitter effect than i threw some left over model car paint on it. than some more clear FX and clear. =] its been about 2 months and its still perfect.
