Question About Painting Prep For Front Lip.
I was wondering if anyone had any good suggestions on how to smooth and repaint my front lip...after 10+ years of my Accord being on the road the front lip has pitting and has faded to a light black. I tried using some sand paper not sure what grit and some bumper paint but it didn't turn out looking good at all so any suggestion so I can start over, thanks

Okay here we go,
use 320 to scuff it up for primer.
spray primer.
wet sand primer with 500grit wet/or dry trimite.
apply primer sealer.
appply 2 coats of base.
apply clear tack coat.
then apply medium coat of clear.
wait for it to cure.
razor any runs and color sand any other imperfections with 2000 grit wet or dry trimite.
then buff with 1500 grit compound.
next you use your glazing compound (2500 grit) and buff.
Or you can just sand with 320 and use spray paint. But automotive grade paint would be your best bet, especially with a lip. Normal spray paint will flake off easier and doesnt hold up to rock chipping.
