Re: (spoonjdmdc2)
this is for the guy who doesnt have anywhere to paint cuz something keeps getting on it, what i did was paint in the backyard, once you spray 1 coat put a box over it, and keep doing that for each coat, when ur done painting bring it somewhere indoors (garage,or w.e) put box over it again and let it sit for a day, i rushed my 1st time removing letters and when i tryed taking them off the paint came with it off the valve cover

I'm hoping that it works. I want to try it out with this ZC valve cover to make a wrinkle finish of a color that doesn't normally come in a wrinkle finish.

I did this with a dark green. Came out good. Its hard to clean though, thats why I went back to gloss.

I am pretty sure, that is as simple (and as hard) as painting the whole thing red, then painting whatever you want the black, and the fade is made by lightly spraying between the two colors....
It is difficult, and a technique used in Tagging....

Its actually really easy to blend when you get use to it. I do it everyday when painting cars.

Re: (familyGUY wit MUGENride)
would it be okay if i painted my stock valve cover and then got something air brushed onto it? or is the airbrush paint going to come off because of the heat?

Should not come off. I've used spray paint like 4 times and never had an issue. As long as the paint is similar to spray paint you should be fine.

Did you paint it? I see nothing special about it. I thoutht this was for originallity. Not for posting stock unmodified valve covers. This thread has gotten too broad.
