Dang your nuts.

So those of you who reuse do you just slap on more sealant I guess?

And permatex grey or Hondabond? If there is a difference.

It's just a valve cover man, reuse the gasket, if it leaks get another one, I wouldn't mess around with xyz seal for a VC especially if you plan on changing it up a lot...

Same here.....

Whatever you do, dont add any more sealant than you need to. The VC gasket can last repeated replacements of the valve cover. The less hondabond you use on the gasket, the better. I only start to use it after maybe the 4th or 5th time removing and replacing the valve cover. Even then, I only apply a very thin layer on the suggested areas.

Getting close to primer on my VC I coppied whoever it was I was talking to about shaving the nubs(cant remember )

Before
I had already done the letters obviously

Then I did the 2 nubs, cleaned up the edges, and shaved the "tabs" I call them.

I filled in the holes it left and have to sand them down still but Im pleased so far.
I still have to work on the top left corner also to clean that up a bit.

You can use any kind of filler really. I've used dolphin stuff and glazing putty ... the metal glaze stuff works too but its harder to use i think
