where to get best prices on auto body supplies $600 budget
so i am "reviving" a 95 accord wagon, its in really bad shape. here is the revival thread.
https://honda-tech.com/forums/honda-accord-1990-2002-2/turbo-vics-1995-accord-lx-wagon-build-revival-thread-2919224/
i never actually did my own body work before. i did work one summer in a body shop so i understand most of the processes.
i am working with a tight budget of about $600. i already have a welder, spray guns, compressor, orbital sander, rubber hand sanding block, putty mixing board, mixers and tools. i am not doing anything crazy, just painting it a nice shiny black with a nice wet looking clear coat.
i am not going to do the jams or engine bay since they are already honda's version of black. ill just power wash them and wax them.
so i been looking at a lot of how to do auto body threads and i want to compose a list of what i need. what i am asking is where do you get the best prices on the stuff you get.
my list
Red scotch bright pads
masking tape
tape off paper
how many different grits of sand paper will i need?
cheese grator for filler
epoxy primer
sealer
paint
clear coat
reducer
glazing putty
acetone
buffing compound
buffer
por
sem interior plastic paint
ill update the list as i go on

Eastwood is probably not the cheapest source.
Look for auto paint suppliers in your local phone book and look around for the best deals from them.
Your local Napa parts store probably does paint and body supplies.
If by tape of paper you mean paper for masking, whats wrong with newspaper? It can be had free many places and works just fine.
Scotchbrite pads can be had at your local supermarket, not red ones but they work just as well and are much cheaper.
Grits of paper will depend on what you are doing with bodywork.

ok, so i am looking into ordering some sand paper. i am going to get 36, 80, and 220 grit psa for my orbital sander. then i am going to order 400 and 2000 grit sheets to use with my block sander. just not sure how many sheets i might neew. will buying 25 sheets of each grit be over kill. i know its hard to determine how much is needed. each job varys, but i am not trying to over dose on stuff i dont need.
