help restoring paint '94 accord
So my '94 accord's paint has seen better days... when I got the car it hadn't been washed in probably a year or so and was covered in a million little dots of tree sap/bug poop, and the odd bird dookie here and there. I recently washed and clay bar'd the whole car, which seemed to remove the dots (it is smooth as a baby's bottom now), but you can still SEE where the dots were. I don't know if the paint is stained or if it ate through the clear coat by being left on for so long or what.
I tried to put a little meguairs polishing compound on a Terry cloth and buff the dots away, but it didn't really do anything. Should I try a more abrasive rubbing compound? Does anyone have any tricks for getting rid of these dots?
The paint is also stained/etched where the bird poop was... Megs polishing compound didn't get rid of this either. Any suggestions?

Re: help restoring paint '94 accord
Update:
I got the Meguiar's DA power system (the drill attachment), and some meg's ultimate compound, and did a test spot with 6 section passes (50% overlapping passes). This GREATLY reduced the spots... They are still visible but they're much less noticeable and the paint looks much richer and shinier. I would definitely recommend the DA power system for someone like me who doesn't want to dish out a few hundred bucks for a real DA polisher, I'll be using it to wax as well and it really makes things a lot easier than doing it by hand (and saves compound/polish/wax).

You can use Diamond cut from Maguire's.. A real polisher will take away most if not all the paint defects. You can get one from Harbor Fright for around 50 bucks and use some higher end puffer pads will give you good results. Just don't spend to much time in one spot or you will burn through the paint.
