Icon6 Body Filler to cover minor RUST OUTS????

Hi i got a question for HT,
I got a CRX and withthe passenger side Top door by the roof with rust size half of a penny and about 1 and a half inch long?

I know that its better to just clean all the metal and sheetmetal or braze it on to cover the rusted area but also around my car theres small rust areas.

For that area penny to half penny size and 1 1/2 inch length wide would body filler work to cover the rust out hole???

i don't have a accetlyene/oxygen tools to do it, or mig welder etc. Equipment. but would body filler last in the long run for that kind of size?
Right now i don't got money and i just only body filler etc.

Thanks,

the only way it's going to last a long time is if you remove every last bit of rust. they call it cancer for a reason.

The answer is no, you shouldn't do it, but it sounds like you're going to anyway.

reinforced filler for small jobs is not ideal. sanding it rough is its simply not needed. grind down to metal put some filler sand it back primer then red sput putty, then 320, prime again then water sand and paint. if you're worried spray "One Step" when u grind

If you want the rust to be back in a few months listen to your current advice. If not, go to Napa and buy some Rust-Mort, grind your rust down as far as you can, and treat it. Thin skim of putty to fill the pin holes and etch prime it, then high-build. Simple.
