Would you buy a high mileage odyssey?

Re: Would you buy a high mileage odyssey?
I'd never buy another Odyssey, high mileage or not. The Odyssey is like a smokin hot chick with herpes. I still own my 01 but recently bought a 2011 Sienna Limited. Less hassle and looks better. IMHO the best body style of the Odyssey was the 2nd gen. 3rd and 4th gen look like crap to me but after 3 transmissions I will never go there again. My $.02

My 01 was on the original tranny and shifted flawlessly. It had 260k on the clock before I sold to my niece. Still running great to this day. My current 95 is rough around the edges but it's at 205k and is still more reliable than most cars 10 years it's junior.
I know honda odysseys have trans problems but I haven't had to live through them.

Re: Would you buy a high mileage odyssey?
Just bought a 1995 with 214k for $1,000. Previously one owner and always brought it into my shop or Honda for service.
The ONLY Odyssey i'd buy are 1st gens and the newest body style. Seems like tranmissions are hit or miss with the 99-01's. I have a customer that has 300k, but put 3 transmission in it also...

Made it to 190k on our initial Trans on mour '06. We have had great luck with our Odyssey. Other than std maintenance, and yearly break jobs, it's been great!
By the way, we had no signs of the Trans going bad, one day, would just not go into gear...

I have an 06 Odyssey with 210k miles (man they add up fast). Replaced the Trans at about 190k. Thought about getting rid of it prior to replacing Trans, but everything else on the vehicle has been great!
