So going to my friends house (who happens to be a very attractive model) in about an hour, and I'm grasping at straws hoping somebody sees this post to give me a little insight. because obviously I really want to look I know what I'm doing and I've already screwed up a little.

she was having some vibrations during braking so I put on brand new pads and rotors on her front wheels of her 05 Odyssey.

I've change brakes for friends a million times and this was nothing out of the ordinary, pretty easy.

this was 10 days ago, she even called me a few days ago to thank me and tell me how great everything was working. but then last night she called me saying her left front tire who is making a horrible noise. sounded like an intermittent grinding, chre, chre, chre, chre chre chre, that would get faster as she drove faster.

my first thought is, when I was changing her brakes she did not have the new clips for the pads, we were pressed for time and her old clips looked like they were in very good condition, so I installed the pads with the old clips. I'm hoping that's all it is.

any advice on anything else that I should look at around the wheel or breaking assembly, other than the obvious like if a piece of debris got stuck in there somehow?

I did troll the form before posting this, I think I might try removing the rotor and rubbing the inside of the hub with a scotch brite to see if there's any loose rust. but from what I remember her whole brake assembly was surprisingly very clean, no rust on any parts bolts and nuts that are usually pretty hard came off surprisingly easy. I'll also recheck the rotor itself is seated well. I'm kind of shooting in the dark here, and don't want to look like a total fail in front of the hottie...

Gosh, I've done this honesty 30 or 40 times for friends and is airways been perfect....why'd i have to screw up for a model? Lol gotta love murphy's law.

Could be a bit of debris between the brake shield and the rotor. No reason yet to think you screwed up. Did you regrease the slider pins when you replaced the pads and rotors?

Exactly what it was, little pebble caught between rotor and shield. That and the bottom of the shield was also bent towards the rotor just a hair to much. But i got to stay a hero, lol
