Default Civic Suspension on CRV?

Noob to the CR-V world. I have a '97 CR-V that needs some new shocks up front. I have a fairly new set of OEM '00 Civic shocks/springs sitting at home. Will this assembly work in the CR-V? How about just the shocks? Any help would be appreciated.

I read all that, but didn't see anything in regards to using a Civic's full OEM suspension on a CR-V. I mean the entire Civic front shock/spring assembly.

as we keep on saying on that thread..
there will be weight issue if you use Civic's full OEM suspension on a CR-V
or even an ITR oem suspensions.. theres always that cahnce that youll have
to do some mods in order for it to fit or for you to use it..
also consider the stance and you might be able to do it but you'll be sacrificing
comfort or handling..etc. in my experience, its too low for a DD, but if youll be using
your V for track/strip or show purpose then its ok..
as i state there, im still in the process of tuning/tweaking my suspensions although
im using it as my DD, i have that chance to observe it..
but if your talking about the installation of the OEM civic parts, it directly bolts on!

you might wanna try it and share us your thoughts on it..
good luck!

HTH..

At the very least, put your cr-v springs on the civic shocks. The problem is, the rates won't match anymore and your ride will degrade because the shock can't dampen that spring effectively. I'd just sell your OEM civic stuff and get replacement cr-v shocks. It WILL lower your car over an inch, even if you use the cr-v springs.

What skunk 2 stuff did you use coilovers or springs and for what vehicle? I have my OG skunkworks (before they changed the name to skunk2) DA teg coilovers and I have some extra v suspension now just wondering what you rolled on front is it OEM struts or AM?

What do you want for a set of those top hats? I have an extra set here if you would like to make me some?

I did read it, and I don't care about your Koni/GC combos. The question was merely for OEM parts.

I used acutal cvr specified skunk2 coilovers I believe front rates are 10k and rears are 14k. I did compare them right next to some civic/integra skunk2 and springs are alot heavier duty! Shocks I used kyb gr2 pratically a oem replacement part but fronts are integra gr2 and rear are for a crv. The highest I can crank the coilover is 1/4 from the highest point of the coilover, and its still about 2 1/2 to 3inchs lower than stock.
Send me a email precisionfabrication@live.com about the top caps

thanks steve

but what i was saying is that i had them at a stock ride hight(for an em1) and they still were too low. i compared them with a set of stock em1 sus that i have at my bros house. bottom line is you will have problems. if its a dd then you will really have problems. just wait till your front slams down and your under there with a crowbar and grider trying to get your wheels to come back out of the wheels wells. you will see what im talking about. i had to drag $300 in tires just to get to my buddys house and get it back to normal. trust me is scary and just a huge pain in the ***. NOT WORTH IT! just get some gr2's and some h&r lowering springs.

and also now that my serve is on stock sus now, my rear sway bar end links are making so much noise i cant even drive it. all because i ran an itr rear shock and i had it tucking about a half inch in the rear and the endlinks are trashed. i had them raised up as much as i possibly could. the shocks are just way too short.

those shocks are tip to tip in that pic so you can see how much shorter the rear is. and dont say i dont care about your konis!!!! all shocks for the same car are the same length. its the spring/coilover that makes the dif. these shocks are stiffer than oem and the springs are stiffer than oem and the crv is just way to heavy for any civic/teg suspension. i bottomed out alot and got standed befor too. with my front wheels smashed up in my wheels wells.

DONT DO IT, DONT DO IT, DONT DO IT!!!!!!!! YOUR WASTING YOUR TIME. YOU WILL HATE IT AFTER A MONTH!!!!!!!

I'm not trying to modify anything....so I'll just wait and snag some aftermarket Rancho shocks or something.
