FS: 1989 CRX Si - JDM ZC - Jackson Racing Supercharged - 10psi
I am going to sell my beloved CRX, hopefully in the next few weeks if possible. I recently got into a fender bender accident and it broke the drivers side glass headlight and bent the hood. I just picked up a Fiber Images Carbon Fiber hood that I am installing onto the car. Now I just need to find a replacement driver's side headlight and upper radiator support bracket. There is also an oil leak I need to fix, I may possibly sell it with the leak and take a bit off the asking price. At the moment, I do not have the tools or time to remove the crank pulley so I can replace the main seal and stop the oil leak. If you are decent at working on Hondas, you can fix this for pretty cheap!
1989 CRX Si - Rare Blade Metallic Silver Exterior Color
ENGINE/SUPERCHARGER/TRANSMISSION
- 253K on the body, 112K on the engine
- SOHC ZC Engine (112,000 miles)
- Compression tested: 200/195/195/195psi
- LSD Transmission, shifts smoothly, not sure if it's a factory or aftermarket LSD, but both wheels turn when the car is jacked up, so I know it's LSD equipped. HUGE help in acceleration and turning!
- Jackson Racing Supercharger with High Boost Setup (10psi)
- JRSC belt was replaced 13k miles ago
- Jackson Racing FMU
- 63mm JG Bored Throttle Body
- Short Ram Intake setup with high flow filter
- Kamikaze Header, 2.5" collector (the best manifold for JRSC's)
- Full 2.5" Exhaust to High Flow Muffler (mellow tone, not raspy), But Still On The Stock Cat. Test Pipe would open up a bunch more power on this setup
- Walbro 255lph Fuel Pump
- NGK plug and wires
- Newer battery, starter and distributor
- Centerforce 6 Puck Clutch (plenty of life left, grabs great)
- Aluminum flywheel
- Estimated 170-180whp, 140-150wtq. Previous owner never actually dyno tuned the car.
- Car ran 13.5 @ 104mph on 20x8x14 slicks.
- Only time I have ever raced anyone, it was a friends E46 M3, 6 speed with Dinan intake and exhaust and from 2nd gear through top of 4th, each gear I pulled about 1/4 car length.
***** I also have a brand new DPR phase 2+ prepped head (http://www.dprracing.com/) that would add some serious power to this setup. It has never been installed, paid a little under $900 for it. Was originally intended to be used for Honda Challenge 4 race car. For the right price, I will include this head with the car or possibly just sell it separately. Pictures of the head can be seen in the photo album link at the bottom *****
Pictures of the car and the DPR head can be seen here: http://picasaweb.google.com/JasonZBe...rcharged10psi#
SUSPENSION:
- Full Energy Suspension Bushing Kit, Including Engine Mount Bushings
- Brand New Progess Competition Coilover Setup (awesome kit). Rides stiff right now because of heavy spring rates that are meant for track. You can either keep them as is or buy replacement coils from Progress for pretty cheap. Right now, the car has 500lb springs on both the front and rear
- Stock 91 Si F/R sway bars
- Unknown wheels with decent tires
- Converted to Rear Disk Brakes, OEM pads
INTERIOR:
- Autometer Phantom Boost and Air/Fuel Gauges
- Interior is in excellent condition. It has a tear in the drivers seat, near the rib area. The interior is fully intact, not gutted at all.
- Has AC, but needs to be recharged, belt is off right now as well.
EXTERIOR:
- The car is in good condition, especially for being over 21 years old and on the original paint job.
- There are some small dings here and there, a couple dents that can be popped out easily on the front fender.
- Has the usual small rust spots on the sunroof panel that would be cheap/easy to fix as well. I was considering sanding it down and painting the panel black to go with the carbon fiber hood and black wheels I wanted to buy.
RANDOM:
- It was owned for the first 15 years by an older gentleman who tool immaculate care of the car.
- I have all his old receipts showing the work/maintanance done to the car over the years.
- The car runs good and it passed smog when I bought it from the previous owner late last year. (with stock intake, header on)
- I have the stock header and intake setup. It has the stock cat on at the moment so if you throw a high flow car or test pipe on, you will a decent amount of power from it.
- Depending on what your plans are for the car, it could definitely use a good tune, convert to OBD1 would be ideal. This would give you the most power, reliability and most control over the engine management.
- I was planning on converting to OBD1 and having it tuned, but plans changed on me, lost job and no longer have the means to do it.

Re: FS: 1989 CRX Si - JDM ZC - Jackson Racing Supercharged - 10psi
Thanks...
I have received quite a few PM's and emails regarding the car and most people are asking how much I want for the car. To be honest, it all depends on what fixes I do to the car before I actually put it up for sale. However, if you are handy with Honda's, I would be willing to sell the car exactly as it sits for a good price break.
Here is a breakdown of what I want to repair on the car...
1) Replace the hood as it has damage. I am currently looking for one locally.
2) Drivers headlight replacement because mine is broken (I have found someone locally)
3) Replacement upper radiator support bar (I have found someone locally)
4) Has an oil leak that I believe is coming from the seal behind the crank pulley. This one may be tough for me to fix because I am VERY limited in tools and I know it takes some TQ to get the pulley bolt out.
Aside from this, the car runs fine and is very quick. Has lots of new parts. If I were the new buyer and really wanted to make the most of this car, I would convert to OBD1 and get a good tune. You will get a bunch more power and it will run awesome! This was in my plans but those plans have changed since I got a new car.
For the right price, I will even include the brand new DPR Phase 2+ head that will make a night and day difference in power, especially with the 10psi of boost running through it.
I can send pictures of the car as it sits right now with the hood/drivers headlight damage and let me know if this is something youd be interested in fixing yourself if you have the parts already or just want to pick up the car for a cheaper price.
The registration is up at the end of this month, so it will be up to the buyer to pass smog. When I bought the car in the end of 09, the previous owner passed smog with the car without a problem and I have not done anything to make the possability of it failing greater, but it will still be up to the buyer...

Re: FS: 1989 CRX Si - JDM ZC - Jackson Racing Supercharged - 10psi
I have been receiving a lot of messages asking about the price...
If I sell the car as it sits with the current damage, I will prob sell for no lower than $2200.
If I sell it with the fixed front end, but not fixed oil leak, then prob about $2500
I was even considering selling the car for about that same price with the stock suspension, but thinking about it, I would rather the new buyer get the complete setup.
I will only include the DPR phase 2+ head if the price is right on the car. Otherwise, it will not be included.
I'll try to get a couple current pics up after the holiday weekend when I get back home. Chances are, I will fix the hood, headlight and upper radiator support bar.
As far as the oil leak goes, the buyer may have to do this themselves or have someone else do it for them. I do not have access to any tools right now.

Re: FS: 1989 CRX Si - JDM ZC - Jackson Racing Supercharged - 10psi
For those interested, I am replacing the damamged stock hood with a very nice carbon fiber hood. The headlight will be replaced as well as the upper radiator support bar.
I have all but decided to leave the oil leak fix and smog to the new buyer. The car is still perfectly drivable, but it does leak oil so it has to been kept on top of so you dont run it low.
I think I am going to pick up the CF hood tomorrow and I can post pictures of it when it's om the car. I am still trying to source the best possible used 88/89 drivers side headlight and upper radiator support bar.
Any questions, fire away!

Re: FS: 1989 CRX Si - JDM ZC - Jackson Racing Supercharged - 10psi
Not sure if I mentioned it or not, but if there is someone out there looking for a clean slate to work with and has a bunch of random 88-91 CRX/Civic parts at their disposal, I would be willing to let the car go for about $2k firm as is. Just needs about $200 in replacement parts to be brought back to the same condition you see in the pics, plus dealing with fixing the oil leak (assuming its the seal behind the crank pulley). Easy fit with a lift and air tools, which I do not have. The car would be a monster once all sorted out and still a great DD.
I am potentially picking up a CF hood tomorrow and the headlight and rad support in a couple days, so it should be back to looking really good, aside from the oil leak.
And remember, for the right price, I will throw in the DPR head which as we all know works wonders on a relatively high boosted car!

I added some more pics of the car to the online album. Now, I am just waiting on the replacement drivers headlight, then someone can buy it.

For those interested and who have been sending me PM's, the headlight should be here later this week, so I can show the car at that time.
If you are still interested in checking out the car, send me an email at jasonzbell@gmail.com
Thanks!

I got the tracking number from the person I bought the replacement light from and unfortunately, it will not be here until the 18th. So, I can either wait until the headlight is here to sell the car or I can install the old broken glass headlight that is taped up and that way the new buyer can have working headlights. Once I get the replacement headlight, I can then ship it to them.
I have added more pictures to the album.

The person who was supposed to come pick up the car this Sunday just emailed me saying they ran into financial problems and they cannot buy the car. So, it is still for sale for those who have email or PM'd me about it. I will try to get back to each of you personally, but I may miss one or two.
