What transmission do I really have?:

I opened the B16 transmission last night and had the following tooth count.

    Main / counter
    1st 12 /38
    2nd 19/39
    3rd 24/34
    4th 29/32
    5th 31/27

    FD 15/64

From my research it matches the gears from a Y1 so it checks out as B16 but the ring gear tooth count of 64 is that of a SC4 or LS Hydraulic.

I found a picture from your shop that shows ID marks on the ring gear and counter shaft that would identify where they come from. My ring gear has 3 marks on it and the counter has 1 mark on it. I'm just trying to figure out what transmission.

    Hey David,

It's me again lol. Got another transmission question for you about a different unit if you don't lending some more knowledge. My GSR transmission has been working great for me.

    The plan:

Ok, I'm doing a B series swap into my 2000 civic EX but I'm going to use a cable transmission b/c I have a 90/91 B16 transmission already but it needs a rebuild. I'm using the Hasport EKCC kit that allows a cable transmission to be used in a EK chassis. A Hydro to cable kit.

    Question 1:
Are all the top cases the same between cable and hydraulic transmissions? I ask b/c with the EKCC Hasport kit I would lose the front transmission mount b/c I would be using a cable transmission which would normally mount to a front subframe in the earlier 90-93 Integra or JDM CRX. If I am able to use the a hydraulic top case I can simply use my stock top mount and get a DC integra front mount like a normal B series swap.

    Hi,
I am putting a quaife LSD in my 2000 Integra GSR transmission. I seen two of your posts that state If I do have tapered diff bearing to switch to ball diff bearings OEM# 91005-P80-E31.

You also state that I have to change the preload shim to the ball bearing shim. Do you happen to have the part number for these? Are these shims case/bearing or are they put on the diff/bearing?

    Thanks

Check to make sure the stopper plate is aligned to 12:00 and the bearing installed on the shaft not in the top case. You will never want to pull the cases together with the bolts, they should go all the way together by hand.
