Default mirimoto mini h1, 4th gen prelude oem headlight

Hey all, I have a chance to buy a retrofitted set of jdm 1pc headlights that have the Mirimoto Mini H1 projectors and bulbs only (no ballasts, etc) for $220 but the housing is chipped pretty good in the corner.

So I thought I'd do my own retrofit on my black 1pc headlights that are jdm knockoffs but utilize 9006 bulb mounts like oem. Is any cutting needed? Now I've read online a guy with an Accord that used 9006 bulbs stock didn't need to cut his headlights. Would that be the same for me? Any help appreciated. Thanks!

look up the bake method when doing retrofits . You wont need to cut any more then to fit the H1 projectors .

I just ended up buying the retrofits already done and negotiated to $180 with the guy

They are well done, missing a couple replaceable mounting tabs and pass side corner of lense is chipped but not leaking moisture, other than that he did a solid job. Came with DRLs and custom DRL relay too. Though I think I will open them up to reseal myself, remove the shrouds and put a plate just behind the projector lense so the reflectors don't show. Basically black it all out.

I'm wondering, are these bulbs ok? As in not burned out? I haven't been, able to test it yet, no ballasts yet. See the brownish area on both bulbs? Mid bulb, right by and facing the external 'pole' or whatever u call it. They are bixenon bulbs.

Is that gonna be a problem Do I need new bulbs? High beam filament burned out?

Usually hid bulbs will have a little discoloration in the middle there. They should be fine based on looks but make sure to try them out
