I have installed LED brake lights (7443) on my 2010 Civic and the Nav system now dims when I apply the brakes unless the headlights are on in which case the nav system is already dimmed. I do not get any warning lights telling me that I have burned out bulbs, but my guess is that I need to add a resistance to the line. Anyone have a known fix for this?

We had a customer come in with LED' he bought from another place.

For what ever reason if he plunged them in for his rear brake lights, his dash would light up and the door open 'beep' would start up. This was only when the brakes were depressed.

When we switched his old LEDs, for a new set from us, the problem went away.

So it could be the resistance like you said, or it could be the LED bulbs themselves causing a problem, such as a short internally. You'll have to check both possibilities.

I checked with my Honda tech bud and he said that the newer cars like mine (2010 civic) have solid state relays and are ready for LED bulbs. His idea was that the bulbs are cheap crap and told me to find some better ones. I double checked and noticed that the bulbs I got were Pilot brand. I've returned them and ordered a better brand. The one's I returned did not say that they have a chip set like the ones I ordered do. I hope that makes all the difference.
