Headlights stay on and won't turn off
I know it's not a Honda, but I was hoping that some of you could help me out anyways. ..
My wife's car's ('95 Toyota Avalon) headlights are staying on even though the switch is turned off. They turned on somehow in the middle of the night last night and were on this morning when we woke up even though no one was ever in the car throughout the night. Now the headlights are on all the time even though the steering column switch is turned off. The brights work and I believe it changes from the reg. headlights to the brights when activated. The 4-ways also work and the headlights flash on and off with them.
I pulled the headlight relay and that was the only thing that would turn them off. Also, before I took the relay out, the relay itself was actually making a loud clicking noise at one point. I don't think it is the steering switch for this reason and b/c the lights turned on in the middle of the night w/o anyone using the switch to turn them on.
Is the relay going bad and I need a new one or something else? Any thoughts? Thanks so much in advance

Re: Headlights stay on and won't turn off (milkmanLCA)
sounds to me like the switch (on the steering colunm), cause how would the relay get power without the switch activating it.
maybe there is a tsb for this problem.
