Del Sol HID Issue
I was gonna be picking up HIDs for the del sol...
i picked up JDM one piece headlights yesterday so I'm gonna need 6000K Bi-Xenon for the headlights im doing Hi/ Low kit (and it's an H4 bulb)
thats not a problem however I also wanted to do 3000k in the auxiliary lights. turns out the bulb in there is a 3497.... I don't know much about lighting but I'm assuming I can't get an HID that size.. isn't that thing tiny like a turning signal?
What can I do other than retrofitting and if I have to retrofit.. someone please explain what it involves and if it can be done by me?
For those who don't know the auxiliary lights are the circular lights located between the headlights on the 93 - 95 del sol.

The auxilary lights on US del Sol's isn't a real fog light or headlight. It uses a sidemarker type bulb in it that doesn't produce much output. Funny how I've been pulled over for having those on when not in "inclement weather" even though they're not foglights.
Anyways, I digress...
If you want to keep the 4eye look and put HID's in the Aux lights, you need to pick up a seat of EDM (Europe Domestic Market) Aux lights. They have glass lenses, not plastic, and actually use an H3 or H4 single element bulb. Then you could buy one of those HID kits.
Also, the JDM headlights don't use a standard H4 bulb by the way. They use a Japanese only H4H. There isn't an HID "kit" for the H4H bulb type. What I've heard of some DA Integra guys do is use a JDM ITR D2R bulb and fabricate a special hanger to hold the bulb in. To be honest, if you're going to get an HID kit for the JDM headlights, it'd be better off to buy one of the USDM aftermarket one piece headlights which would use a standard H4 bulb. Unless that's what you did since you said they were already an H4 bulb. If so, you didn't pick up JDM one piece headlights yesterday...

Damn it! Ok so where can I get my hands on a set of EDM Aux lights? I checked ebay and local partstores but nothing. Got any idea bro? and what's the price tag like?
Also my friend claims the H4H bulbs are very similar to the H4s and the HIDs will work fine... is he incorrect?

Sorry I didn't reply sooner.
The EDM lights are a bit rare. You might have to have them shipped from europe. Check delsoluk.com. Someone there might be able to get them for you.
Your friend is right. the H4H bulgs are similar to the H4's but the difference is enough that the bulb won't fit into the housing withhout a slight modification. I think one of the tabs has to be bent backwards for it to clear.
