k24a8 questions?
my mom's friend wrecked his accord and is giving me away the motor.
my ej got jacked a month ago and stripped and ive been in the hunt for a motor. what luck right?
ive been asking around and people r just telling me not to do it but its kinda hard not to since its free.
the engine is a k24a8 and its an automatic. booo. for me to get it im going to have to remove the engine myself. sounds easy enough. but then what else am i going to need for the swap. axles, ecu, harness (which one do i need?), mounts, etc.

found that link.. but could i use the axles from the accord and the harness and such?

Re: k24a8 questions?
hate to be the one to break it to you, but all you can use is the engine. the axles wont work at all because the outer joints wont fit your civic. the axles are also different lengths, thus not using a halfshaft, which will render alot of torque steer. the wiring harness wont work because accord harness has 3 connectors before it gets to the ecu. even if you rewired all of it it still wouldnt work because VTC has - and + leads where accords only have one signal wire. its hard to explain but i went through every possibility to try and make it work. soooo, youre looking at buying the following items: ep3 or rsx harness, swap axles, halfshaft, transmission, swap harness, fuel rail, fpr, fuel lines, ecu, clutchline, radiator swapped to the left, throttle cable, shifter box and cables, rad. fan switch, swap header, exhaust work, charge harness, mounts, ep3 pulley and belt, swap rad hoses... alot lol. ive done it from a bare block onwards... in the end its worth it but learn from my mistakes and try to get better deals than i did. i spent $12,500 for my first k-eg swap. this one im working on now shouldnt exceed $3500. i have alot of extra parts though. dont lose hope, just do it in a cost effective way, but dont skimp where you shouldnt. good luck!
