Default .010 oversize Pistons with standard rings

Hi, so I'm in the process of rebuilding my motor for daily use, nothing special just back to oem spec- minus the oversize Pistons of course. I was just wondering if standard size piston rings would work with .010" (.25mm) oversize Pistons since it's such a slight overbore. I've already tried the original rings on the oversize Pistons and slipped the piston in the cylinder and there's no play or extra movement. I put oil on the upper cylinder wall and moved the piston back up and the oil doesn't deep through. Just curious as to whether I can get away with this for daily driving. I don't plan on doing anything crazy with this motor just need to know if it will work for a daily driver. I know some of you will recommend using the .010" oversize rings but my Honda dealership is the only place that seems to have them and they already fucked up my piston order once so I'm a little hesitant to go back.

If the ring gaps were correct originally, then placing these rings in a .010" over-bore cylinder will have a ring gap increased by .032" !!! That would be WAY too large. Also, if you place standard sized rings in an over-bored sleeve cylinder parallel to the block deck, and shine a flashlight at angle from under the block, if you see light between the ring and cylinder wall, it will NOT work... it simply won't seal correctly.

Alright, thank you. I've tried to find another forum with this question and it seems like everyone wants to put oversize rings on standard Pistons but I could never find one about this. I guess I'll be ordering the rings and waiting another week or two for Honda to pull their heads out of their asses. It's funny, they're quick to take my money but when it comes time to shipping my **** they like to take their time. I've waited two weeks for Pistons that were suppose to be in last Monday. One came in but the rest went on back order. A lot of good one piston did me in the rebuild process XD I've been without a car for 3 weeks solely because of the wait on parts. Of course no one else carries the k series parts for anywhere near cheap enough. I'm just glad I get 10% off cost at the dealership or I would've scrapped this shitty ep3.

The simple answer to this question can come from yourself. I you are rebuilding an engine one of the steps are to set the ring gaps to a certain spec. placing the ring in the cyl using the piston to push ring down a few inches , you check with a feeler guage to see if the ring is to spec. If the ring is Too small then you will need to file down the ends and check gap again. If the ring is too big than you have to order a new set of rings to fit the gap properly. Too big of a gap will cause excessive blow by.
