Status update: IMA driveline sold to a couple college kids, they're going to make good use of it, so happy that ended well.
Got my 2003 Honda civic Hybrid hubs, the bolt holes on these line right up with the holes on the Insight suspension, splines fit right into the mismatched B series axles, so that's looking promising.
If all goes well, I'll be moving into my new home in July/August. Then I'll be able to grind and weld to my little hearts content. Currently I'm in a 6 month old apartment complex, and the management isn't a fan of my hobby.
Also, gotta ******* baby on the way!!!!! Hopefully I can get a good chunk of this done before they arrive, as that may be a little time intensive. I'll keep y'all posted.

first of all I would to congratulate you on your baby hopefully you will have time on the place that your moving into slowly build up the car...
Should be closing on the 2 car garage this Wednesday, Honda Civic is scrapped out, on it's way to becoming a skyscraper in China, or maybe an Ikea closet rod. Engine is safely tucked away in the trunk (so I now own a mid-engined, aluminum Honda, i.e. practically an NSX). I continue to be surprised how light these little cars are, I was able to roll the Honda onto the car dolly with just a little running start. The insight also has a pretty big trunk with out that pesky battery pack in there.
Cool beans, good progress in lyfe. Yes the cat will be given a chance but it needs to be inducted to our honda society. Must down 12 bottles of bud lime.
All settled into the new home, came with a free tortoise. This guy actually lives in a burrow beneath my fence, he's between my age and 60 years old. The dog enjoys barking at him, but he dgaf. He's also an endangered species, so he's going to be here as long as he wants.
Car is once again immobilized. Bitch bolt ended up destroying most of my drill bits, so I cut the shifter linkage off at the double knuckle thing. I'm certain the length isn't a perfect match to the cable shifter setup anyways.
Any tips on custom engine mounts? I will be attempting to make it as symetric as possible on both sides, but as far as for/aft location, any tips on where to aim for this? I've done RWD before, but this is my first FWD, custom swap.
Looking good and I spy a non-LSD tranny. As for the axle placement, as straight as you can seems like the best option. But wouldn't a slightly forward swept axle be just a as good? Plus when you finally put the car on the ground it should level out nicely.

You're correct, it'll be a one wheel wonder for a bit.
For the axles, if I remember my vibrations right, it's more important they are parallel then straight. So I'll aim for that. It seems axle placement will be more of an output based on the engine placement squeezing in there.
Stuck an old intake manifold on there and welded up the driver side pieces. These aren't going to be the mounts, just trying to figure out the geometry first.
Testin **** out. The insight is really nice as the engine wiring is a separate harness. Not so much the case with the civic. Once the engine is firing, I'll start cutting out the excess from the civics harness
Adapters made, I was real hesitant to weld to the cast iron hubs, but there is enough welding to the center piece to hold it in place even if the connection to the cast iron lets loose. Probably fried the ancient wheel bearings in the process though. Next up, coolant hose plumbing, and **** linkages, woot
