TEIN RA for ITR into 92 EG CIVIC CX HATCH Qs???
I have a stock 92 EG Civic Cx Hatchback. I'm getting a set of TEIN RA coilovers for the ITR. What do I need to make it work for my Civic? I was told all that was needed was to use the ITR LCAs. Is that it? The Shop I'm buying them from is insisting that the TEIN RA for ITR will not work/fit for my Civic. What gives?? He's pushing for me to buy the TEIN RA for Civic instead of the ITR ones... which are obviously better. I dont' want to buy the incorrect TEIN suspension!! HELP!?!?!

the front and rear will work...just need the rear Type R LCAs or JDM EF/DA/EG/DC LCAs.....all will work as well as '88 civic/crx lcas which are very similiar....
usually the difference between the DC and EG Teins is the stiffness of the springs, other then that, they shock are most likly the same, since all JDM 88-95 civic and 90-01 integras use the same rear control arms...

from what i know the RA's are gonna be very stiff.. dont know if you had the chance to experience the HA's but RA's have a much higher spring rate.. they are more adjustable as well... will go beyond 3" in adjustability.
Most people i know use is strictly for roadracing..

Re: TEIN RA for ITR into 92 EG CIVIC CX HATCH Qs??? (eg6ajk)
eg6ajk: so just to clarify... the TEIN RA for ITR will WORK for my setup as long as I get the correct LCAs right? I was planning on getting the RA for ITR and then picking up the ITR LCAs to make it work. But when I was about to order, the guy started telling me it wouldn't work because the ITR rear coilovers wouldn't work on my EG. I told him about swapping the LCAs but he STILL said no. Hence, my questions here to FULLY clarify everything.
hybrid_eg: The reason why I'm going for the RAs is because I can pick up a new set for the price of the HAs. I plan on using my car for occasional roadracing and the aluminum bodied RAs should last a little longer than the typical HA... which I hear are easily prone to rust.

good idea then.. i would get them then for sure.. i never really care about cars comfort.. afterall you are making yourselft a streetable race car.. you can have both
here is what you can do.. when you are on the street.. you can buy a set of HA springs to use on the RA coilvers for street driving and use the RA springs for track only.. thats only if you feel they are way too stiff but i doubt you'll have that problem. As for the rusting part.. it all depends where you live.. i believe that both models will rust about the same.. but in cali i dont really have to worry.. rains one week in a year and my car sleeps tight in the garage.
but to answer your question, you can use the DC2 coilovers as long as you have the right control arms.. HTH
