Default RWD shift linkage setup for a b series or h series swap

trying to figure out how shift linkage was fabricated when the engine is in the rear?
the shaft from the trans is pointing torwards the rear of the car so how is it redirected towards the front.

i already have my engine(b20vtec 230hp), trans(b16 cable with a spool) mounted in my two seater sandrail with custom long travel rear trailing arms

I just need some ideas on how people ran the shift linkage towards the front of the car

It wouldn't work with a B-series transmission. My guess is that any RWD B-series used automatic transmission that are connected to the shifter with cables. Also, Since the H-series uses cable linkage, you can mount the shifter anywhere you want. if the cables are long enough...

If you flip the stock shifter so the rods are pointing towards the rear, extend the rods as necessary, attach the stationary support rod to the front of the engine, and the shift rod to the transmission rod, the motion is the same. You may have to bend the rods slightly for clearance. Make the attachment between the shifter rod and trans shift rod as short as possible, watching for clearence during rotation (side-to-side motion of the shifter).
