Need help about using ECU P72 with a B16A2 swap?
I got a 97 CIVIC EX with 99 SI B16A2 swap, the car is right now using a 96 GSR P72 ECU since it plug right into the ecu harness (still using the EX harness) but a friend told me not to use the p72 ecu b/c the gsr has two stage manifold. What does that mean? He also to me to use p28 to reprogram it to DOHC spec and get ODB II to ODB I conversion harness. My quesiton is that can I use p28 (sohc vtec) ecu with DOHC motor? IS there any other ecu that I can use in my car that will make it other? let me know alll the info on the ecu's thats the best for my application...thanks guys

Re: Need help about using ECU P72 with a B16A2 swap? (97 CIVIC EX)
get a converter harness from odb2(96-98) to odb1. Use a stock JDM P30 with the motor, for the most power.(but you will have a speed limiter, or get US P30)
I like to use Chipped P28's but i haven't seen one make more power than a stock honda ECU.

For simplicity, get a 96-98 ITR ecu (96=JDM). It will plug up and run your motor as designed (single runner manifold).
Even better, get the OBDII to OBDI ecu harness and a reprogrammed P28 (it'll run better).
Good luck finding a P30.
