Picked it up for $700 with a gsr head and gsr bottom end.
Came with hasport motor mounts, brand new axles

I pulled the motor apart and noticed that the bearings were not in the best of conditions. so before I put the motor together I decided to send it off to the machine shop. Got the head done up and resurfaced. Got the crank polished.

Today I was still waiting on the block to come back and still have not received my bearings yet. So I decided to strip down and clean the transmission to match my block

So I got my block and crank back from the machine shop today. Decided I would clean and scrub the block down and give it a good paint job. Started putting things on the motor such as my new water pump. Tensioner. Spring. Any parts I could get back on in the time I had today I did.

The cylinders have been honed, block was resurfaced, crank was polished.

I am still waiting on my damn bearings and rings to come in the mail!!

Tomorrow I am going to put in new front and rear main seals!

Figured Id post some progress

Still creeping along in between work! just picked up a set of rust free eg hatch doors for 25 bucks! a steal! almost have the car ready for paint and have the main bearing clearances all checked and in spec as I figured with the oem replacements. All of my rings are perfect Waiting on Oem rod bearings to put the pistons in and all I am going to need is a head gasket. Hoping to have it fired up by next week!

mean while. I cleaned up my intake today

Hopefully you're replacing the clutch and resurfacing the flywheel while it's apart.

The previous owner put a new clutch and flywheel on it. I looked at it and it is pretty much brand new still. Same with the flywheel.

Def looks like it had about 50 miles put on it

Been a bit since I posted been swamped with lots of work today and prepping for the winter . Spent some time today getting everything back together and torqued to
Spec. Just picked up 2 new snap on torque wrenches and let me tell you I love them!!

But all the talking aside I got the motor ready to put back in.

Any recommendations on building up oil pressure?

Thanks guys. And yea it's been a pain in the *** to find parts . I had way more luck picking up parts cars on a local Honda page. Worked out cheaper than individually picking up parts. After all I've done I'm still only 2 grand into the car!
