Default k20/k24 build help

I have an ek with an k20z1. I would like to do a k24 all motor build. I know that the "best" k24 block is the A2 TSX block, but with that said, what would be the best block to build. I know the A2 has the oil squirters but do I really need them? The A2 is super expensive compared to the A1. Would the best block for me be the k24a1? Does it really matter if you are building the block what block you use? I plan to use my Z1 head.

The TSX K24A2 block is a bit superior over the K24A1 blocks because of better connecting rods, higher compression pistons (10.5 vs. 9.6), and better oil pump. For what its worth, there would be little modifications you would need to do vs. using a K24A1 Accord block - you could simply bolt up your K20 head to the TSX block and go. The oil jets are good to have which are standard in the A2 block, but some guys don't run them, also 10.5cr isn't that bad either.

On the flip, with the A1 block, you would need to need to tear down the block, upgrade the pistons to at least 11.0cr pistons (09 TSX pistons highly suggested if you wanna stay OEM - 11.0cr), swap out the oil pump for that of a K20A2/Z1 oil pump, and add the oil jets (if you wish to). You're basically making an A1 block into an A2 block with slightly higher compression.

So you have a TSX/A2 block in one hand and an Accord/A1 block in the other - which is more cost effective to you? spending a tad more on a TSX block that doesn't need to be rebuilt? or rebuilding an A1 block?

Like NAS says, the choice is yours...the choice is yours...

actually the k24a1 block is from a crv, and does not have to have the pistons swaped out. the engine your refering to is the k24a4 accord engine. which yes you need to swap the pistons and rods out so that there wont be a clearence issue when trying to fit a a2 head on, from an type s or a si.
correct me if im wrong........
