Default K series Engine Swap Questions??

I have been seeing more and more K-Series engine swaps these days. So I was curious as to how much a usual K swap costs?

Im looking to start a new project, So I was also curious about the difficulty of doing one of these swaps?

I have the time, and I believe I have the experience to do it (Ticketed Mechanic and Welder, 6 years of tuning experience)

So any help would be appreciated. Not looking for a step by step, just a more cost of the project and opinions on why or why not to do it...

Thanks

man it all depends on wat k series engine and trans u want, get a nice set of mounts and fuel set-up. companies such as ktuned hybrid racing and hasport do alot to make this swap easier and at an affordable price. some motors start at 400 for accord motors and go up to 1500 and 1800 bucks base model trans around 400 and type s and type r 800-1200. the best bang for buck is not always buying a whole swap from a company but is to find a wrecked rsx or si and buy the whole car or get the swap out of it....my first k was a 02 type s and bought the whole totalled car for like 1200. hope this helps

ya that helps alot...I just remembered that like a year or so ago the K swap was almost as expensive as doing a "built" turbo setup...(2500-4000). Then again I lived in sheltered canada where they have to make do with what they got up there...

Ya I knew Hasport has a decent kit that they sell. And I think Chase bay's sells a nice wiretuck kit for the swap. The only thing I was wondering about is the Axle setup. I thought I read somewere that you need to get integra axles or something like that...Not sure. I was just wondering if I was missing anything.

If anyone else has a parts list of what EXACTLY is needed that would help alot. I tried searching but I cant seem to find it. Hopefully someone will say "did you look hard enough" and post up where it is....Hahah..

Thanks for the help

we make custom axles for the k-swap

integra axles will not work

we offer the mount kit, axles, and wiring conversion for the k-series into civic/crx/integra/accord/prelude

if you can do most of the work yourself your gonna be golden.... wiring harness is easy to wire up, axles you can either run 32mm axles from base rsx and ep3, or 36mm from type s or newer si.... you just need to swap the inner c.v joints around to get that proper axle length. you'll need kpro @ 1000 , mounts @ 500, and a fuel pressure regulator @ 200, and the swap. and if you want to get fancy you can get that shift box relocate @ 130 but it is not needed to get the car running. you can find swap pretty cheap about the same price as a b18c gs-r .

Hybrid Racing fuel kit around 700$. paying 700 for fuel system is retarded unless your building a barrett jackson show car. fpr and fuel filter is all you need and they are may be 250 @ most. you can get away with brass fitting and rubber hose.

Hybrid Racing conversion harness 400$ that is over price most pnp harness today are around 300 buck. make it your own for free its may be only 10 wire you gotta wire in to your car.

Kpro 1400$ you can fine kpro for around 850 with your ecu.

made my own header around 100$ wtf you was going all outon your built with home made headers???? lol use stock tsx or accord headers with down pipe with cat. your gonna need to shorter the down pipe after the header flange for ground clearance

this is a very very easy swap. the engine harness goes straight to the ecu so can't really **** up there.
