JDM H23A into CRX

Re: JDM H23A into CRX
The only problem I had when installing them was which side the offset went. If it was offset to the ground or to the frame. I forget, but I know I did it the wrong way the first time.
It probably offsets towards the car. Because when I put mine on upside down the trailing arm were being pressed into the car.

LOL yeah the arrow is the up position. What do you think about them?

Re: JDM H23A into CRX
Mine where rebranded PwdJDM ones. The labels on them might be different.
I cannot narrow down how my car rides down to one part, cause mine was a complete rebuild. I can tell you I don't have any problems yet, that I know of.
My car rides as if it is on rails, every aspect of it is tight *******. They only annoying thing is the squeaking that occurs sometimes, but that is why I have a radio.

All right got all you addicts some more parts to get your fix.
Hybrid racing has some amazing products as you all know.
I plan to put these parts thru there paces vigorously.
Love the way the shifter feels the springs hold it in middle-neutral
position firmly. Smooth operation, I don't feel any binds at any position.
The cables are definitely thicker and the spherical and machined end
pieces look top quality. They will definitely add to my shift work.
The bracket for the H series transmission is simply genius.
Making one product work with multiple applications, had to
put some Serious bucks in there pockets I would think.
Obviously no first hand experience yet. The product doesn't
Look like it will disappoint anyone.

NRGtech, WhitfieldMFG and FCS Race all created a tubular sub-frame. Why do you need those?

Cheers brother, it was my trainers last day tonight so I'm lit lol! I need more advice on the rest of this build. I know the NASA rules and all that jazz but deciding on parts is hard... I think I want to build it for TT but road racing too... and I don't want to **** up a TT splitter setup... road racing H classes say 1.5" splitter "lip" is okay looking down from the front bumper. And I'm sure TT has to be different? I have to find the CCR... help guys and gals. Stop trolling me... :-(

Re: JDM H23A into CRX
Who do you think came up with the kit for the rear lower setup first ? kiwi or password jdm
I want the kiwi setup. But I'm not sure this is the correct path or should I go with some oem lca with sphericals/rose/whatever and piece the rest together?
I want the hush hydraulic conversion, not sure about using it for TT/road racing because
I haven't researched it yet. I know they use them on some drag setups. What do you think?
I hate the mechanical ones like that came with my mount kit...
Having trouble with the NASA/HPDE/H class roll cage... I want to buy a pre bent and notched cage and have a professional welder with a professional setup weld it. I'm having trouble figuring out what autopower/??? Cage to buy. I want the dash bar and bare minimum bracing (nothing additional) with the x door bars.
Going with the 6UL wheels emailed him. With ef knuckles (90-91 ef ex sedan for the brake setup) so I have the right race legal track width up front, he said with rolling them and a road race camber setup it will be fine. For the rear I'm sourcing crx/ef read discs once again so I have road race legal track width, and the brake upgrade. Said the rear was the same as the front. Slight fender roll and camber. I don't plan on this car being very low... the question I'm trying to figure out is what OEM BBK will fit behind the 6UL's?
I want a shorter final drive for a OEM LSD M2B4. haven't figured this out yet. Seen some
Crazy **** with a f22 FD and a combination of gears and it was short as ****. Looked/sounded like a sequential rally trans...Fancy ****.
Is there a way people are stitch welding the rear lower subframes? Seen that tear stuff happening with stiff bars in the rear. I think it's shifting all the forces directly to the subframe when you add strut barsx trunk bars, cages, sway bars, sphericals. So I want to go on ahead and do some preventive maintenance. Is there bracing I can weld to it?
Just the stuff that I haven't posted yet... like ECU... the choices are overwhelming.

Kiwi, ASR, Function7 and Password setups all look pretty nice. You might also check out Kingpin but they are serious money. I imagine the Kiwi and PWJDM are both made by PCI Brian but I could be wrong.
Can't say on the Hush performance setup. I have the Hasport linkage for now. May upgrade later, will see how it goes.
WhitfieldMFG has started making pre-bent, notched and ready to weld cages. Check them out.
Eventually I will go with the brakes below, you have the EX knuckles though and I would stick with them. Fastbrakes is another option, should be able to use your existing parts too.
Possible brake upgrade:
https://honda-tech.com/suspension-br...t-efs-3204210/
Syncrotech sells some FD gear sets.
Honda Acura Custom Gears
Where are you seeing the Subframe tear outs? AFAIK that is more an issue with 92-00 Civic's. ASR makes a subframe kit too though, bolts into the unibody. Check out @whited thread for some pictures. He may also be a good help with this stuff as he went ground up on the car.
I skimmed over the thread again for Engine updates. Are you going OBD1? p28 is the best for chipping or adding Hondata S300. AEM is another but more expensive option.
You may need a wide band and speed.academy just did a review on the AEM X series which looks pretty solid. I have the older version AEM now.
All of the wide bands use the same sensor, it is more about the controllers though.
Hope this helps. Progress on your build is solid.

I do to, but it remains a nice to have. Their earlier versions had problems, but that is all ironed out now.

Re: JDM H23A into CRX
Hey guys, it feels good to have some people's insight. I have been doing this with just what I think is right and I know that's not always the brightest or correct.
Thank you for the info on the Kiwi / password Jim
I guess I'll go with them because I have had my heart set on them but wasn't sure about the performance they put out and can handle, they do state they only sell what they race.
I know hush was working our all of the kinks and made a few revised models but seem to have it correct now. Just worried if it can hold up the constant hard shifting and abuse from road racing. I have only seen it on DD and drag cars.
The brakes... :-( I can only use OEM BBK per the CCR. So I was going with the legend 2pot up front and something that can retain the e brake in the rear. But I want to make sure legend calipers will tuck behind 6UL's. Beyond that I'm trying to decide if I want to run two proportion valves to control front to rear brake bias. I think the legend calipers are going to need some tuning to keep from locking up under hard braking.
I had no idea about Whitefield cages or the syncrotech makes final drives for OEM lsd transmissions.
Been seeing subframes tear do to large rear sway bars.
I'll be using the new Road race 32mm so I want to reinforce it.
Need help on deciding on the computer still, I am going obd1.
No engine updates. If it's H classes then I have to be really stock. The CCR states no JDM H23A are allowed to compete. So this motor is just to get me used to the car and dialed in. I'll be building a motor for TT or H class. I'm not sure yet tho. That will be next year. Car setup comes first.

Re: JDM H23A into CRX
I think Wilwood has aftermarket BBK that qualify as OEM.
CRX rear sway bars are not on the subframe unless you move them there. Look at my thread I have the ASR swaybar.
OBD1 is your best bet.

Yeah the wilwood dpha right? I wasn't sure if that would qualify for an OEM BBK but I will definitely look into it because I was going to get the fronts sense they fit OEM 15's...
I know they don't bolt to the subframe, I was just saying I seen some stuff on it. With bracing it moves forces to the subframe and causes it to break. At least that's what I'm thinking is going on lol.
Yes definitely obd1 but what software is where I am comparing.

That's what I'm thinking, he just sold some of the rights to the design or something. No way those two companies are knocking off each other? ...
I will look into the fast brakes... I absolutely despise red calipers. ..ugh. lol.

Is yours the v1 or v2? I had a f22 transmission with a f22 shifter and h23 cables on my last budget build. Never went into second the first time without being under 6k. Yeah I had **** mixed and that added to it, but I will never deal with that **** again lol. Upgrade your shifter and cables people!!

Build is looking amazing! I finally started a thread for my build. You should give it a look. My crx is a long ways from done, but I'm working on it
