Default H2B CRV

Well I know that some of you know about this by now so I am going to go ahead and make it public knowledge.

As most of you know I have a 1998 CRV. RTAWD 5 spd

On April 5, the timing belt went. The previous owner said that it had been done, but apparently not.

About a year ago I bought a QSD H2b kit to use on my coupe but this seems like way more fun!!

On April 6, I picked up a JDM H22 for a great deal that needed some love. It had had the valve cover off of it when the previous owner was cutting wood, So I decided that it was time for a freshening.

I don't have pics of the motor at this point because I forgot to take pics before it went to the machine shop.

The motor is basically going to be stock.
Fresh rings and ACL bearings.
Lots of new Oem seals and gaskets.

Balance shafts eliminated.
I made the plate.

I have not found anyone that makes mounts for the CRV so I purchased a set of Innovative EK mounts that I am going to modify
Also a Golden Eagle cam seal and some NGK's

Removed the old motor

The plans for now are to make it run and drive and maybe build a higher HP motor for it next year.

I have a few tricks up my sleeve with this one, so stay tuned!

What did you use to clean the distributor and thermostat housing? It's gonna look great if you keep it all that clean. Good Luck!

Awesome.

Did you need to hone the cylinders when replacing the rings? It's a different process for the H22 isn't it?

Thanks for the comments everyone!

The dizzy and the t-stat housing were just wire wheeled. The block and head are super clean thanks to the machine shop

I want to do a tuck on this like I did to my civic, but I am really anxious to drive it.

I found the recommended honing procedure and gave it to the machine shop. they are putting rings and bearings in it and I am putting the rest of it back together.

sorry to say manl but I doubt this will work without some modding.

The starter mounts on the front of the RT4wd trans vs the rear, your going to have to cut the plate out and drill mounting holes somehow.

looks like he might need to chop the plate a bit to make the starter fit.

As someone said before the different starte location is a small issue. Maybe a 15 minute fix. Anyone this is very interesting and I can't wait to see some 60 foot times
