Well, I am curious as to how tight this thing is on there ? I cannot get this thing loose, my impact gun does not want to do the job. To those of you who have removed your crankshaft pulley for whatever reason, how did you get it off ? I am **** out of ideas. Its time to say screw it and get some Someone please inform this poor man on how to remove this thing, thanx

i barrowed the tool from a friend that fits inside the crank pulley. I then put a 12" breaker bar on it, and wedged it against the front lower control arm. i then used a 2 foot breaker bar with a 5 foot pipe on the end of it. then i used two decently long impact extensions, and put a jack stand under them. Connected up my breaker bar and pipe combo, and put all my weight into, and got it off that way.

u need 1/2" drive rachet with a long metal pipe to slide over it to extend it so u can add more torque. Then its a piece of cake. Dont use 3/8th rachet, ull just break them.

i had a hell of a time with mine also. but my friend told me to go to harbor frieight and get a chain vise. a vise using a chain to grip. and i used that and the rachet with a big breaker bar and it worked. 8 bux.

i was using my wheel brace to turn the crank one day, and some fool (me) decided to crank it over...

it went CLUNK and i shat myself came round to see teh wheel brace had almost torn a hole in hte guard.

that pulley bolt was done up really tight now

so yeah, had to use a long 1/2in extension, a breaker bar with a 6ft pole on hte end.

teh trick was to have somone hold the 1/2in extension still and straight or it would keep twisting out.

oh, and before i started that story i was GOING to say - use pentrol/penitrine/WD40 - whatever, soak it for a few days!!!

Impact gun wont work for a crank pulley that has been on the engine for a long period of time.

Possible
Solution 1.

U need the honda crank tool (no need to buy the extension) and wedge it against the chassis. turn the crank clockwise until the tools is secure and rests on the underside of the chassis. Get the biggest breaker bar and turn counter clockwise (crank boltr).

Possible
Solution 2.

If you can lift the car high enough...... Engage the transmission in fifth gear and let a friend step on the brakes as hard as he can. This will prevent the crank from turning through the transmission, and wheel hubs. The wheel hubs is being held secure by the disc brakes.
The breaker bar will have to be pulled from underneath the car.

wow, thanks guys, ill let you know how it turns out today -- my engine is actually on a stand, with no tranny on it, so i have lots of room, it just aint movin, lol

Get the moroso tool, a good breaker bar with a pipe extension and call it a day.

actually i just rented a 3/4 inch drive impact gun, the damn thing must have weighed 40 pounds. I cranked it up to 120 psi and bam the damn bolt came right off. thanx for the suggestions tho.

Me i use 1/2" ratchet and hammer and start swinging away. Comes loose after 30 good hits.

I just use a 1/2" breaker bar thats about 2 feet long and weighs about 5 lbs. Put it on, brace a foot against the bottom of the wheel well and pull as hard as i can. Never had a problem even on super high mileage Hondas. Although i can put all 245 lbs of my mass behind it
