b18c5 type r swap into 91 civic sedan
Hey, I'm currently researching engine swapping and would like to put a b18c5 type r engine into a 91 civic sedan. I've never done this before. I'm wondering if anyone could tell me whats required to do one of these procedures..I know id need a compatible transmission, what else is needed? also should I go with this engine or is the b18c1 a cheaper easier route to start with?

It's sadly not possible. B series swaps have been around since the early 2000's in EF cars there just isn't any info about it.

You'll need a bit more. Your car is a DPFI, you'll need to swap over to MPFI and convert your alternator, injector and distributor plugs to OBD2. You'll also need to wire up VTEC and knock sensor along with adapting the fan switch to the thermostat housing. You'll also need to add wiring for the 4 wire 02 sensor.

In regards to switching to obd2 I would need a conversion harness right? Also I heard going from obd0 (which the car has) to obd2 can be tricky? Is it possible too convert to obd1 and get a chipped ecu? if so what ecu would I get? Soooo many questions hahaha

You can convert to OBD1 at the ECU very easily with an adapter harness, however the connectors at certain sensors need to be swapped to OBD2 in order to plug an play, this is after your DPFI harness is converted to MPFI. There are some harness makers out there that will do this for you and add whatever connectors you need to the harness but its pricey. If you are super comfortable with wiring, soldering, etc you can do it yourself. In the FAQ there are a lot of write ups for it.

I'm browsing Rywire right now for this swap would I need the following: alternator adaptor, some sort of b series harness, a distributor adaptor, and ecu jumper, and injector adaptors?
I'm basically looking for some assistance in what to buy for the wiring part of the swap.
