Default b18b obd2a + 97 civic ex wiring or engine issue! Help please

Hey all, I'm in desperate need of getting my car running as I am missing college because of it. Engine swap was done a few years ago by Honda and had some voltage drop/low idle problem that was intermittent which they thought was the IAC valve. It's been acting up more often so recently we found that the MAP sensor was acting up with a scanner tool and tried another MAP sensor which didn't help but pointed to corrosion at the ECU clip. We found green corrosion on some of the pins of connector D to the ECU. So I had cleaned the contacts and the pins. For a day or 2 it was running pretty good with the odd hesitation and backfire but not much compared to before. I was told to get another clip and resolder my wires to it because of the green corrosion which I did. As I was stripping the red/green, red/yellow, red/black and white/red wires I notices they were corroded as well (dull looking wires and dusty with some black like stripe on the wire). I continued on with soldering and pinning the clip but accidentally put the red/yellow (Intake air temp) wire into the supposed to be empty slot EGR valve pin (civic only) and ran the car (pin 8 in the pin 9 location) which didn't run well.

After fixing it, it's still running really bad. Seems to be dumping fuel out the back (black carbon came spitting out and smokes..can smell it running really rich). It idles very rough and when throttle is applied it starts to chug/shake. We've checked the pinouts well over 10 times with the original and seems to be the same setup as before as well as a pinout diagram. There is also 2 red/yellow wires (Intake air temp has silver spots every couple inches)...and 2 green/white wires (one is a lighter shade and is plugged into sensor ground while the other is above it, pin 5 brake switch). There is a small possibility one of these was mixed up but I'm pretty sure the red/yellows are correct as I checked on the sensor end for the silver markings and are connected to pin 8. I know a sensor ground is a bad one to mix up but we matched to the other clip.

We also tried resoldering the wires, checking all of the pins (one looked broken so was soldered to another clean pin then the pins all put back into the original clip, tried another obd2a ECU (automatic but running the same should rule out the ECU), tried a second MAP sensor, tried changing the spark plugs and cleaned up the intake air temp sensor a bit. The only thing I can think of to try now is cutting the questioned corroded wires by the sensors and running some new wire to the ECU. Is there any suggestions here? I am not in my comfort zone when it comes to testing electrical but can solder, basic usage of a multimeter ...PLEAAAASE

if it's that bad, find a new harness.

day 3 was much better...I started by testing the clip and making sure the wires work and go to the correct location to the sensors which they did but two wires on the MAP clip seem to lose connection when I moved the clip around... could be loss of contact from us moving it as well. We had another harness with the same clip that was for spare wire/clips anyways. So I soldered up another clip to the MAP sensor just in case those wires were breaking at the clip. Still not the issue. My friend is swapping the same 2001 b18b into his civic so that engine was on the floor beside us. He recommended trying his MAP sensor even though I already knew the 2 I have worked before I started. I took mine off again, then his, right away realized there was a rubber o-ring seal that was not on mine when I took it off. So I tried with his seal and that was it!

2 nights ago I had him switch back to the original MAP I had before I finished the ECU clip change over. It must have been stuck to the sensor when he lifted it, then it fell into the abyss and he just never thought of one being there...simple mistake. Scary to think how long that problem could have taken to find. I'm pretty happy now but I hope this post helps someone else in the future. I will definitely start looking into getting another harness though because of the 3 or 4 dull wires. Thanks for your input Kyden.
