There's only one white wire on mine. It shows on the schematic that one's either black or white. I have a black one and a white one.

Ok, I figured it out. It was right in front of me the whole time. I spliced in the wrong blue wire. I used the blue from pin 9 instead of pin 2. It's all good now, thanks!

Hi I got a 96 civic lx non-vtec swapped it to jdm b18 b followed every thing on list but I get hi idle and when I drive it I get get popping like in limp mode at 3k rpm. It has obd2a dizzy did a code check and getting 4. My question is I got the dizzy with no cap and coil so u used my cap from my d series's that is the msd with coil plug on it with an msd ss blaster. Do I need to get a b series cap ? Or is it something else

Hey, I had an issue with the code 4 as well when I swapped my jdm b16 into my 98 hatch. I rewired my dizzy plug on my harness so that it would work with the obd1 dizzy on the engine. Now I was running the corresponding jdm obd1 ecu with a rywire step down harness. So I figured that the the wiring within the step down was not communicating with the directions I followed to 're wire the dizzy plug. So what I did was rewired the obd2a dizzy plug back onto the harness and bought a rywire dizzy step down and that got rid of my code 4 and the car ran great after that.

Anyone please help me. I have a 93 eg hatch with a b18b JDM engine. It's an obd2 engine. I used my same wiring harness that was already on the 93 hatch. Everything sounds fine and it runs. But it has a boggin down issue when I'm goin down the road. Idk what the problem is.

on bullet point 5, using a OBD2 sensor with a OBD1 motor. I've got a 97 del sol with a d16a motor swap. the ecu is a p06. my CEL is on and my OBD scanner can't sync to the car. I've checked all the fuses but still won't sync. anyway, could the reason my CEL is on because of the CKF sensor. also is my scanner not not syncing because I'm using a OBD2 plug with an older OBD1 ECU

Hey!

Me and my friend are making a fun build, what means we are swapping the engine.

The car we use is a 00 Civic 6th gen, with d14a3 (non-vtec) originally. The engine is from a 92 civic 5th gen d16z6 (vtec). We have both cars still. Engine + Harnesses.

If we are putting the D16Z6 into the 00 Civic, can we do it with the P28 ECU, as i read already, with an ODB2b to ODB1 jumper. Now if we use the D16Z6 Engine harness, can we plug it into the jumper, or how does that fit?

The other thing is the IACV mod, the pictures posted from the ODB2b IACV mod are not working, only the ODB2a pictures, and i guess they are not the same, so im not sure how should we do this mod.

Is there any pictures how can we wire the VTPS?

Thanks!

I just wanted to make sure I understand correctly if I'm using a obd1 B18c1 with original obd1 ewh, and obd1 p72 these will all be pnp in a 2000 Integra gsr?

Hello guys,
I´d like to ask you, of it is possible to run D15Z6 engine in car which had D14A2 on factory harming. There is a difference in plugs, OBD1 (vtec) and OBD2 (non vtec).
What do I have to do, to make it start? Its a Honda Civic 1996, MA8. Thanks for your advices

May be an old thread but I don’t care. I can’t spend a lot of time reading because cell signal is nonexistent where I live. So I just need a little help! I have a 00civic 2 door, with b18c, not sure if it’s itr or sirg, will check head code tomorrow. I need to know what all could be causing the idle to surge, I know alot can be with ecu and all that. Also how can I tell if my trans, which is definetly gsr, short gears and doing 75 on interstate is right around 5k in and out of vtec all the time. Just need some info and guidance. I have more experience with k series, not the b, we’ll the bastard b, but not this one!! Thanks

Several things can cause a surging idle: vacuum leak, ecu programming, bad IACV, misplugged sensors to name a few.

What ECU are you using exactly?
ECU programming controls the vtec crossover rpm point so depending on what ecu you have will give us some insight.

For your trans question, does your trans have a bar code part number sticker on it? (usually located on the viewable front near the engine stamp), If so whats the part number?

I pretty much have the idle figured out, as far as the ecu, I have n clue!! No stickers, someone wrote gsr, and I can make out a p, and an 8 with something in between, and the trans is unmarked, but vtec engaging around 5k to 5300 rpm, at 75 mph in fifth, you at the vtec engagement point. I did not build the car. But I know it’s a gsr trans, and the block has a 97 code, and a pr3 head. And is mounted in 00 civic ex, also when using the obd port, it does not communicate with bi directional scan tool profaned for honda

Take some clear photos of the ecu with the cover off and post em up, but sounds like its a P28 by the way you're describing things along with no communication with the scanner tool (OBD1 ecu's wont communicate with an OBD2 vehicle scanner tool). P28's engage vtec around 4800rpm and redline at 7200rpm.
