** Have you ran a J series outside of a vehicle?
Like in a tube chassis or on a run stand?
I have a J30A for a tube chassis sand rail project. I am looking for info on reworking the harness and removing / bypassing the immobilizer to run the motor with a non-Honda trans in a non-Honda vehicle. Looking to remove as much unneeded harness as possible, and run the motor on the bare minimum.
I have been searching for hours but there is just so much info regarding civic swaps, the off road tech seems much more guarded.
I have heard the immobilizer component can be physically removed or bypassed inside the ECM, but haven't found any specific info on how its done. I have made custom run harnesses for various GM fuel injected motors in the past, but did not have the immobilizer component to deal with.
I know, J30s suck. But I have a complete donor vehicle in front of me.
Anyone?

If you want to bypass the immobilizer correctly: Honda / Acura ECU Immobilizer Removal Service|HA Motorsports
This way you don't have a check engine light, etc.
If you have the complete engine/trans setup and the original engine wire harness, then this shouldn't be too bad. The harness goes all the way to the ECU/PCM, then you just need to wire in the last ECU plug to your dash/controls/power/etc...

Yeah I have the harness with ignition and ecu, but no key. I also don't want to run the Honda transmission. It was an auto car, maybe I need to swap to a manual ecm in order to run with any trans and just a VSS signal.
I've chipped and socketed honda ecus, and trimmed domestic harnesses down to just the primary engine to ecu wires. But there is usually more info available on how it's done on the web. I can probably figure it out with just the pin out diagram and wiring diagram from all-data. Was just hoping there was more direct info out there, to save time.
