Honda Civic: External Bulb Size Chart

Before you go about taking things apart, check out this guide to find the right bulb sizes. This article will pinpoint the sizes you will need for the external bulbs on your Honda Civic.

This article applies to the Honda Civic/Del Sol (1992-2000).

Generally when an external light burns out, you might go through the trouble of removing the headlight or taillight just to find out what kind of bulb your car takes. The problem is—unless you have another car—you'll be driving around without a headlight or taillight in place. While it's logical to think that Honda would use the same size or type of bulb over multiple model years, the truth is quite different. Every three or four years (as changes were made) they decided to change bulb types. Here are all the external bulb numbers and types for the 4th, 5th, and 6th generation Honda Civics.

4th Generation Honda Civic (1988-1991)

  • Headlight Low Beam Bulb (includes HID and LED upgrades): 9006/HB4
  • Headlight High Beam Bulb (includes HID and LED upgrades): 9005/HB3
  • Parking Light Bulb Size: 1157
  • Front Turn Signal Light Bulb Size: 1156
  • Rear Turn Signal Light Bulb Size: 1156
  • Tail Light Bulb Size: 2057
  • Stop Light Bulb Size: 2057
  • High Mount Stop Light Bulb Size: 921
  • License Plate Light Bulb Size: 168
  • Back Up Light Bulb Size: 1156
  • Front Side Marker Light Bulb Size: 168
  • Rear Side Marker Light Bulb Size: 168
